Finance Crime Compliance Manager

General Overview
The Compliance team ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover the company’s regulatory requirements.
The Financial Crime Compliance Manager will assist the Head of Compliance in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls related to financial crime. These include Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF), Anti-Bribery and Corrupt (ABC), Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) and Sanctions.
The Financial Crime Compliance Manager will be responsible for the overseeing and managing of the customer due diligence and payments processes including transaction monitoring

Duties and responsibilities
· Assisting the Head of Compliance in ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations and directives issued pursuant to the PMLFTR, Bribery & Corruption and Sanctions regulations
· Assisting and overseeing the Customer Due Diligence processes in line with the Bank’s standards and regulatory obligations
· Interacting and collaborating with other departments on issues related to Financial Crime Compliance, in particular, customer due diligence, transaction/payment processes, sanctions etc.
· Assisting business lines in the identification, investigation and escalation of suspicious financial crime activity
· Monitoring of Financial Crime risks
· Managing requests for information and documentation received from the FIAU, Police Authorities, Courts of Malta and other authorities in a timely manner
· Acting as MLRO Delegate
· Providing timely reports on financial crime activities
· Other duties as may be determined from time to time by the Head of Compliance

Required knowledge, skills and experience
· First Degree in Finance, Banking, Compliance or related discipline
· Experience in a similar role / customer due diligence in particular the corporate business would be considered an asset
· Excellent analytical skills
· Able to support decisions with sound reasoning
· Good communication and presentation skills
· Proven ability to learn and to adapt to a changing environment
· Self-motivated and self-driven
· Excellent team player
· Fluency in Maltese & English is a necessity. Other languages would be considered an additional asset
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a minimum requirement
