Finance Officer

The selected candidate will assist the Finance team in maintaining accounting records, will be responsible for the compilation of management accounts and tax forms, and will also play a key role in the different reconciliation requirements within the Finance department.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Uploading journal postings whilst ensuring that these are approved and reflected in the Bank’s general ledger
· Reviewing suspense, inter-company and similar types of accounts to ensure that these are cleared accurately and in a timely manner
· Reviewing bank reconciliations to ensure underlying accounting records are being appropriately maintained
· Maintaining the banking and accounting system of the Group entities’ general ledger, inter-system reconciliation and related tasks
· Preparing monthly management and variances reports
· Preparing VAT returns and assisting with withholding tax queries and returns
· Opening new general ledger accounts as required
· Assisting in the testing of new products or any other amendments required to the systems
· Assisting with any regulatory reporting requirements
· Assisting with the annual/ interim audits/ reviews
· Performing other related duties as required, which may include payroll accounting and completion of tax returns
· Documenting the Finance department’s policies and procedures
· Other duties as may be determined from time to time by the Chief Financial Officer

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

· Partly qualified/ studying to obtain ACCA qualification or similar
· Advanced level in Accounting
· Good knowledge of accounting specifically IFRS
· Proficiency in Microsoft applications (in particular MS Excel)
· Attention to detail
· Experience in a similar function will be considered as an asset
