JUNIOR IT ADMINISTRATOR
As a Junior IT administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the company’s IT network, servers and security systems. This role is absolutely essential within any organisation to ensure business continuity – if an IT network fails, the impact on the day to day running of the business can be significant, sometimes catastrophic.
On a day to day basis, you will be called upon to help colleagues with basic IT needs. This will mean you’ll need to share your own knowledge to help others, including setting up new users and managing backup, security and passwords.
Troubleshoot problems reported by users
Identify user needs
Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
Monitor and support security-related processing for staff
Manage user accounts across various domains and back office systems
Manage processes for protecting classified, proprietary, and sensitive information
Manage access control devices
Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers
Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
Maintain system efficiency
Maintain network and system security
Analyze and isolate issues
Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
Assist in the purchase of Hardware and Software according to requirements
Ah hoc related duties as instructed by the IT Administrator
A graduate in computer science or related field.
Minimum 1 year experience providing information technology administration services
Certification from recognized programs that indicate mastery of systems, tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute the work experience.
Experience working on Windows Server and Client operating systems, and Mac OS X
Team player – Develop effective working relationships with coworkers and administration
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in English and any other language
