Procurement & Contracting Manager

Organisation Description

Our Client, an owner of a Power Plant based in Malta, is currently seeking a Procurement and Contracting Officer to report to the Finance Executive and liaise with the Production and Technology Department.
Job Description

The main purpose for this role is to;

-identify strategic sourcing options for the procurement of goods, services and projects;
-provide advice, manage and propose ongoing improvements for the procurement of goods, services and works according to Standard Operation Procedures.
-Creating SOP’s and ensuring that they are implemented
-Vetting of contracts and sensitive assignments according to compliant obligations
-Researching the best suppliers on the Market and building a professional work relationship
-To secure the Company’s interests in its commercial dealings with both existing and prospective major suppliers;
-To manage and centralize all contracts  in the Planning & Finance Department and the Production & Technology Department;
management of Tenders, making sure that suppliers and other parties are familiar with the time scales
-Drafting of contracts.
-Personal Requirements

The ideal candidate must have :
A degree in Management or Legal or Engineering.
Experience in Procurement and drafting of contracts.

Excellent communication skills with the ability of negotiating with suppliers diplomatically  on behalf of the company.
Good knowledge of local and EU procurement legislation;
Analysing ability and evaluation skills
Experience in contract and supplier management
Knowledge in drafting  legal contracts

We are looking for a positive individual,who is able to travel occasional due to work purposes and might be requested to work long hours at times. However, the ideal individual will be compensated with a good remuneration package
