Works Manager – Civil & Construction Works
One of our clients, who stands at the forefront of the construction sector in Malta is looking for a Works Manager – Civil & Construction who will be responsible for all the contractual correspondence and both internal and external claims.
Assisting the Commercial Manager in the appraisal of tenders, contracts and the distribution of work to subcontractors, you will also be responsible for the calculation of estimated costs and recommendation of profit margin. Pricing and presentation of all tenders deemed feasible, whilst recording and monitoring of progress of tenders will also fall under your remit.
The chosen candidate will also be assisting in monitoring costs of on-going projects, forecasting turnover and programming and scheduling of works on projects. Whilst preparing all subcontractor and piecework contracts, you will also be identifying potential problems with site works that could affect project performance, as well as ensuring both employees and subcontractors follow instructions according to contracts’ specifications.
You will also be responsible for the preparation of internal valuations of projects for the monthly reports, as well as recording the presence of staff on site, and arranging the transportation of personnel working on site. Continuous liaison with the accounts department on project valuations and applications, whilst making sure that materials and works are of the best quality at all times will also form part of your responsibilities.
As the Works Manager, you must ensure that all personnel work in a safe and organised environment governed by Health and Safety Regulations at the place of works, whilst ensuring that all plant and equipment on site meets safety requirements and is put to proper use.
