Top 5 Interview Mistakes That Can Cost You That Job

Appearing Unprofessional
This means everything from wearing appropriate clothes to the way you address your interviewers.  Don’t treat a job interview like you are meeting friends down the pub, and let your choice of outfit and your manner of speaking reflect the professional that you want them to see in you.
Not Being Prepared
The minimum requirement for your interviewer is that you will be able to answer any questions they may have about your qualifications and past work experience.  You’d be surprised to hear just how many people forget what they have written on their own CV, so make sure that you know it inside and out before the interview begins.
Talking too Much or Too Little
If there’s one thing more likely to aggravate an interviewer than somebody just sitting there and giving monosyllabic answers to every question, it’s the interviewee who decides that this is the moment to recite their life history in full.  Stick to relevant information, and answer the questions you are asked in a comprehensive manner.
Not Doing Any Research
Nothing says “I don’t care” like lack of research into your potential employees.  Why should they invest in you if you can’t be bothered investing some of your time in finding out more about their company, products, marketing and anything else which may be relevant to the position you are applying for.
Criticizing Current or Past Employers
So you really hated your last boss?  Well now is not the time to settle scores.  Bad mouthing former employers is not going to endear you to possible future employers: negativity is not a winning emotion to bring to the interview table.
